episode transcription

This Israeli city is relatively young. In fact, its construction is due to David Ben Gurion, Israeli prime minister in the 50’s. However, this city was built in the area of the port of Esyon-Geber founded by the reign of Solomon, in the tenth century BC. C.Eilat was a great strategic point, both commercial and military, during the War of Independence due to its location, bordering Egypt and Jordan.

Sitting down to rest on the city’s beaches, you will be able to see Jordan on the other side of the Red Sea. And, in case you want to enjoy one of the most amazing landscapes and see Egypt, you can also do it, just by climbing a little one of the mountains you will see a part of our neighboring country.

Currently, Eilat is a cosmopolitan city and one of the country’s great tourist enclaves because, despite being next to the Negev desert, one of the driest on the planet, its location by the sea gives it mild temperatures throughout the year. With activities for all tastes and abilities -sports, relaxation, nightlife, gastronomy, culture-, the city of Eilat is a very fun destination for the whole family.

To rest, nothing better than enjoying a day at the beach. Eilat has a 10 km long coastline that surrounds the Red Sea. Some of the most outstanding beaches are Dolphin Reef, Princess, Mosch or Hananya.

In the waters that bathe the Israeli city of Eilat you can practice endless water activities. Among them, swimming with long-beaked dolphins in the open sea stands out. If we go near the border with Egypt, in the Red Sea, divers will be able to enjoy an enclave that cannot be missed: a strain reserve of more than 1 .2 km long. Endless species of colorful fish and precious corals live in this natural enclave. And without fear of being mistaken, I believe that it is the main attraction of Eilat, where you can admire the beauty of nature both on the surface and underwater. From the observation deck you can see four countries at once: Israel, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. And now we will make a descent to 6 meters deep into pools with turtles, rays and sharks to explore the underwater world, observe its inhabitants and even see divers feeding the fish. The Marine Park Observatory is a conservation center, aquarium , and public park and houses more than 800 species.

Now how about taking a walk through the Red Canyon. This fascinating natural area is about 20 kilometers from Eilat and can be reached by car or bicycle. Red Canyon features narrow passageways with high red sandstone walls, intricate shapes and incredibly picturesque scenery and we will make several breaks for photos, beautiful and unusual. From there we go to Timna National Park which also offers dizzying landscapes, reddish walled corridors up to 850 meters high, picturesque stone figures with their own names and even a lake where you can ride a catamaran. For many travelers, and continuing with the adventures Less than 30 kilometers from Eilat is the impressive Negev desert. Going through it on a camel, on horseback, on foot or on a Segway is a unique experience in which being reunited with nature is the prize. we go to the camel ranch as Camel riding in Eilat is a fun and traditional way to explore the landscape, at sunset through Wadi Shlomo and Tzfachot, then we will relax for a while in a Bedouin tent while having a cup of naana tea and we eat a light dinner with this unique and delicious bread called laffa.

And to finish with a lot of fun and adrenaline we go to the tayelet, which is the promenade and we get on the Yaniv FireBall Eilat, an attraction for the most adventurous of 80 meters high, where we get into a ball between two large pillars that with giant leagues will throw us into the sky spinning around very exciting!!! It must also be said that Eilat is the city with the most clubs, bars per capita in Israel, so let’s continue enjoying the night out!!!

I also tell you that on my page we already have the Amaoir section with capsules from Dr. Gonzalo Corvera, a doctor specializing in otoneurology. In Mexico. He was one of the first to start performing operations to place cochlear implants in adults and children. It is currently the one that has carried out the most operations in our country.

The AMAOIR Foundation, which he chairs, supports implant candidates

cochlear disorders to get donations, gives important family counseling as well as auditory-verbal therapies.

Hearing impairment is an invisible and little understood disability.

What is lost is the ability to understand spoken language and to be able to

communicate with the other person in that language.

There are many causes for which a person can lose their hearing, it can be

lose at birth or during their lifetime.

You may have listened, spoken, and then lost that ability because you didn’t hear.

For this reason there are two different options for people with this

disability:

  1. Learn to listen or do it again with the support of technology, that is,

the use of hearing aids and/or cochlear implants, supported by a

therapy according to your needs

  1. Learn the sign language of your community as a first language,

It is therefore important that all hearing impaired people and their

relatives know both options.

The most important thing is respect and understanding that with or without devices, with oral or sign language, all are people with hearing disabilities and this podcast is focused on the entire spectrum, which is why we have an LSM interpreter, subtitles and transcription .

We want this project to reach a lot of people to achieve the objective, so it is extremely important that you subscribe to the YouTube channel, https://youtube.com/@realidadalternativaincluyente all together and with lower case, that you make comments on the page and that you share this project with all your people, the more it grows, the more we can help and that is what interests us the most in RA.

Now if you like to cook, click on the button and if not, keep traveling.

Here I present the Amaoir section. I am sure that you will learn extremely useful and interesting things about hearing impairment.

VIDEO DR:

Hi, I’m Dr. Gonzalo Coirvera Behar. Hearing is the only one of our senses that can be replaced by a computer, but as one might think, it is expensive, a way is needed so that people who do not have health insurance or have no way of accessing it can achieve it. because it is very important when it is necessary, especially in young children, to do it quickly if the opportunity is not lost and the children finally continue their lives with a disability that they may not have, so that is why we founded the Mexican Association for Hearing, help us to hear that the we know by its acronym amaoir, which is a non-profit association aimed at giving cochlear implants to people who need it most

I want to thank Fabiola Ruiz Bedolla, our Mexican Sign Language interpreter, and her entire team of collaborators, as well as a very special thanks to Mercedes Obregón, director of the Pedagogical Institute for Language Problems, IPPLIAP. Thank you for joining this project and all of you for making it possible!
