Phuket is the largest island in Thailand and is connected to the mainland by a bridge: Sarasin. One of the biggest tourist attractions on the island is its beaches. The most beautiful is located between the island’s south and southwest, each with its charm and peculiarity.

Most of the photographs that we have seen in networks and magazines, of the impressive and beautiful sunsets of Phuket, are taken from here where we are, which is the southern tip of the island and it is good that we arrived early to sit down to enjoy the sunset where the Andaman Sea is lost, now it is a postcard moment, right!

The Phi Phi Islands are small islands that are located to the southwest of the island of Phuket. They are part of the Krabi province and consist of four islands: Koh Phi Phi Don (the main and only inhabited island), Koh Phi Phi Leh, Koh Pai (also known as Bamboo Island), and Koh Yunk (or Mosquito Island). ), I feel like taking a speedboat service that connects Phuket directly with the main island of Phi Phi and making the journey that lasts about two hours in which we will enjoy a beautiful tour of the Andaman Sea.

 Now here, how about we snorkel, and when we get out of the sea they offer us lunch and then contemplate the Viking Cave: these caves are located on the island of Koh Phi Phi Leh, at the bottom of a cliff. Then we will make an excursion to Long Beach. We will visit Monkey Beach: This beach is characterized by the fact that you will find monkeys on it. You can take a kayak excursion to get closer to this beach but, beware of the monkeys! And if you are very intrepid, we can dive among turtles and sharks and, if not, you can take an introductory diving course.

In Phang Nga Bay is the islet of Ko Tapu, better known as James Bond Island. This island appeared in the 1974 film, The Man with the Golden Gun, as the “secret island of Scaramanga” and on it, Roger Moore (Agent 007) and Christopher Lee shot the final duel of the film, do you remember? of the scene?

A must-see in Phuket is The Big Buddha, which is a 45-meter-high statue of white marble and is a symbol of this island. It is located on a hill, at the top of Mount Nakkerd, between Chalong and Kata beach, from there we can see beautiful views of Chalong Bay, as well as a pleasant 360º panoramic view of the entire island of Phuket. To go up to the Big Buddha there is a section of about 6 kilometers of curves and they recommended that we rent a motorcycle to go up.

Wat Chalong is the largest Buddhist temple in Phuket and consists of several buildings. The main attraction is the main pagoda or Great Pagoda, about 60 meters high. It is decorated with paintings depicting the life story of Buddha and various Buddha images are also displayed. There is also an exhibition room where you will see different wax statues of some of the most prominent monks in the country’s history.

And at nightfall, we have to go to the famous Patong Beach parties, which is the main tourist spot in Phuket for those who like the night and seek to have a great time at the many night parties that are organized daily, Bangla street is an option! This street and the alleys that lead to it are full of restaurants, bars, discos, karaoke bars, and clubs with music and shows here the shops and restaurants open until very late and at night Bangla Street becomes pedestrianized and the fun begins. Partying on Patong Beach is an experience worth doing, at least one night, as it is something different. Of course, keep in mind that the night there is very crazy, so enjoy!

Phuket has a unique cuisine and its entrees and desserts are a combination of Malay, Thai, and Chinese cooking styles.
