Hi, I’m glad to greet you, I’m Yael Yancelson and today we’re going to a beach with truly amazing landscapes and a very famous tourist destination in our country, we’re flying to the San José del Cabo region in Baja California Mexico, so breathe, close your eyes. eyes, give me your hand, and let yourself be guided, let’s begin!
Los Cabos is located at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula and west of the rest of the Mexican Republic. The geographic region is a dynamic mix of desert landscapes, beaches, and mountainous areas. “El Arco” is the most outstanding point and is located where the Sea of Cortez joins the Pacific Ocean. Los Cabos is made up of 3 main areas: To the East is San José del Cabo, a quiet and picturesque place that maintains the appearance and the air of an authentic Mexican town. It has a pleasant Art District in the Historic Center and the marina in the Puerto Los Cabos area. To the west is Cabo San Lucas, an attractive and fun city, known for its pleasant bay, where you can do all kinds of water activities. Both cities are connected by the 33-kilometer-long Tourist Corridor, where majestic resorts and world-class golf courses are located. Los Cabos, known as the “End of the Earth”, is a perfect place where the desert and the sea meet and the adventure begins. Today we are going to focus on the small city of San José del Cabo, a tourist city at the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, in Mexico, known for its sandy beaches and colonial buildings. They tell us that a long time ago in the Los Cabos region lived an ancient culture of agile runners and tireless walkers called Pericúes, who honored a superior being they called Niparajá. They were collectors, fishermen, and hunters and in the year 1530, Hernán Cortés carried out the first expeditions to explore this area, which was once used as a refuge point for pirates.
If you want to enjoy Mexican art, the best thing to do is stroll through the center, which, with its cozy architecture in the main square, has become an Art District, where it is possible to find works from different parts of the world, but mainly incredible local creations, which It makes it an excellent place to go shopping and eat on one of the pleasant terraces and the atmosphere is really spectacular, hundreds of people gathered in this small center full of art, street music, dance and more, I love it!!! look right in front of us in this Plaza Mijares, in the heart of the historic neighborhood is the missionary church of San José, which was rebuilt in 1940, is that okay with you?
Now we go to the picturesque marina facing the Sea of Cortez to visit stunning golden sand beaches, with famous spots for surfing. San José is home to great wildlife with seabirds, gray whales, dolphins, and turtles.
Well, you already know that I like adventure and adrenaline so I investigated and saw that there is a bungee in Wild Canyon just 30 minutes from Cabo San Lucas. Here there are safe jump points at 100 meters high. Will you jump from a glass-bottomed basket into a rocky canyon with me? Come on!!! I assure you that you will be able to enjoy a beautiful landscape when you launch yourself spinning towards the earth, supported by a giant elastic band. Exciting, isn’t it?
Due to its incomparable beauty and incredible marine biodiversity, Los Cabos is very popular for snorkeling. Some of the best places to do this aquatic activity can be found right next to the beaches located in the Tourist Corridor, but there are also tours to special destinations like the Cabo Pulmo National Park, where hundreds of brightly colored tropical fish inhabit the most important reef in the Sea of Cortez. We have been invited to navigate the waters on a day trip that includes snorkeling and other water activities. We cannot leave here without taking a boat and visiting El Arco, which is the distinctive icon of Cabo San Lucas, which is a rock formation that rises from the sea at the tip of the Baja California Sur Peninsula, where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez. Also known as the “End of the Earth”, El Arco is the most popular tourist attraction and the central focus of countless photos of those who visit Los Cabos we go to enjoy colonies of sea lions, try to see whales, and practice the famous paddleboard.
Later, at sunset, how about going back to “La Calle Grande or Calle Ancha” which is a well-known avenue in the historic center of the city of San José del Cabo? This avenue has much of the history and culture of the region, the scene of significant events such as parades, sporting events, carnival parties, horse races, etc. Undoubtedly here it is full of stories, legends, art, culture, and gastronomy at the same time as the pleasant atmosphere it offers, what if we go to the boutiques and galleries, I recommend that you come on Thursdays for the art walk, which is the day when that all the galleries open until late, the street becomes pedestrian offering a glass of wine in each gallery and shop, many artists talk about their work and their new projects there is music and an atmosphere is created that is very special, somewhat bohemian. Incredible right? I really enjoyed it!!!
If you are hungry and like to cook, click on the button, or if you prefer, keep traveling.
